John Prats: A-List Actor-Student
From: Showbizpinoy [June 2004]

Twenty-year-old John Prats is no doubt a charmer: He's got that matinee idol-ish killer smile, expressive eyes and talents to boot. He was being touted as the next big thing and why not?

John has starred in one of Regal Films' biggest movies as a child ("Batang X"), was in some successful feelgood teeny-bopper flicks as a youngster ("Trip," "My First Romance"), was in several hit TV shows including "Ang TV," "G-Mik" and "Whattamen," had numerous highprofile ad campaigns for big-name brands Bench and Hawk Bags and even tried his hand in music via JCS (a band composed of co-Talent Center artists Stefano Mori and Carlo Aquino). And he's not resting on his laurels, John is very much aware that competition is pretty tough, with new stars being born every minute.

"I enjoy what I'm doing and I can't feel relaxed about my career. On my heels are a lot of young actors and I have to always do my best," John said in one of his file interviews.

Indeed, doing his best in everything is John's guiding principle. In his latest project, acting in primetime TV's "It Might Be You" where he is paired with newcomer Maja Salvador, John is doing just that. Proving his acting mettle alongside showbiz heavyweights Maritoni Fernandez, Tirso Cruz III, Gardo Versoza and Jean Garcia. While his acting skill is honed in "It Might Be You," which features the John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo loveteam, John's dancing and performing abilities are hard to miss. He is still a staple in Sunday afternoon's "ASAP Manila" with outstanding entertainers Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano and The Hunks among others. To top it all, John is also busy working on a degree at Thames International Business School.

That's one of the reasons Hawk Bags, the leader brand in bag apparel, is putting their name's thrust to John's cool and wholesome image. He's one of the very few who were able to manage both his showbiz commitments and school activities well. Aside from that, they believe John is a very good person with a high set of moral values who knows how to share his blessings.

And now that Hawk Bags is coming out with the latest, trendiest and coolest bag collection ever for the coming school year, it's no surprise that they are again banking on John's youthful energy to promote their product's quality. Presenting designs that will make your class buddies drool, Hawk Bags promises to have everything a cool student should need - in a variety of colors and styles that suit every student's mood and lifestyle.

So these days expect more of Hawk Bags and John Prats together everywhere as the promotion for Hawk Bag's New School Rule Collection goes full-blast with the usual rounds of TV and print ads plus pretty big billboards along EDSA. And with John's full schedule going with it, you sure won't miss this growing idol even for a bit!
