How does John Prats feel now that his former ka-love team, Heart Evangelista, has been chosen as Jericho Rosales' leading lady in "Ang Panday"? "I'm glad for her kasi nag-mature na rin naman ang features niya kaya it's about time she leaves teenybopper roles," he says. "Puwede na siyang makipagsabayan kay Jericho. This is a good way to forward her career. Pero siyempre, I'm also somewhat disappointed kasi I was earlier told that our next soap will be a love triangle story with her and Geoff Eigenmann. Tapos, biglang nasa 'Panday' na siya. Even Geoff, who just returned from the US, was surprised by this turn of events. Pero okay lang. I wish her the best."

    John admits he and Heart went steady when they were paired in such TV shows as "G-mik" and "Berks" and in films like "Trip" and "My First Romance."

    "I've had five girlfriends so far at siya ang pinakamatagal," he adds. "We had our time together as a love team but I guess it's really time for both of us to move on."

    He's glad he no longer has a regular partner. "In the movies that I'm now doing, iba-iba ang partner ko. In the 'Playboy Kuba' episode of 'Happily Ever After,' I'm paired with Maxene Magalona. In 'Ako Legal Wife', I'm paired with Nadine Samonte. In 'D'Anothers', I'm paired with Michelle Madrigal. On our TV show 'My Juan and Only,' I'm paired naman with Paw Diaz. I think it's better that way so that I am not identified sa iisang leading lady lang."

    How is it working with Maxene who's from GMA-7 when he's with ABS? "Maxene is only 17 but she's very intelligent and takes her craft seriously kaya masarap katrabaho. One thing I admire in her is pareho kaming kahit busy, we continue to go on with our college studies. She's a sophomore at the Ateneo at junior naman ako in entrepreneurial management at Thames."

    In August, John will be holding his first solo concert at the Music Museum. No, he won't sing. "This will be a dance concert and my guests are Jay-R and the Streetboys. This will be directed by Johnny Manahan and we'll encourage all the concert goers to dance with us."
