By: Walden sadiri From: Manila Bulletin [December 04, 2007] He is said to have been courting the actress for quite some time now and he is ready for any result or eventuality of such courtship. "Of course dream ko yung maging steady kami. Lahat naman ‘yun ang dream kapag nanliligaw," smiled the actor. "I just hope for the best." The twenty-something actor also knows that winning the heart of Shaina is not that easy. He might even agree that his tasks when he was inside the Pinoy Big Brother House a year ago could seem easier. He, as showbiz fanatics know, is in competition with Rayver Cruz, Shaina’s love team. With this in mind, speculations have surfaced that he and Rayver are not on good terms, which John quickly denied. "We’re friends and we work well in UD4. He is one of my friends. But I also have my close friends. We’re not that close nor are we the type who share secrets. We’re colleagues and we have work together," explained John. So how does he differ from Rayver in courting Shaina? "I don’t compare myself to Rayver. We don’t talk about him. Alam ko lang na nanliligaw siya pero I don’t talk about him or ‘yung ways ng panliligaw niya. Si Shaina rin naman hindi niya rin sinasabi kung paano siya nililigawan," he replied. But what about Shaina’s recent comments that in terms of "closeness," the actress chose Rayver to be a level higher in closeness than him, what did he feel? "That didn’t bother me....napanood ko naman sa TV that she admitted na mali siya because she shouldn’t have compared us. I was hurt though. But I was more challenged kasi if you like someone, you shouldn't give up. At least kung matuloy o hindi man matuloy, you gave your best," he stressed. As to Shaina’s parents, John is flattered with their warmness towards him. He admitted that he has been to Shaina’s house a couple of times already and has been received well by the girl’s family. "Sobrang bait ng family niya. Nang dumalaw ako sa kanila they were so nice tapos mga pamangkin niya sobrang cute. I’m fond of kids because of my siblings. And since my sister Camille is having her first baby soon, it excites me to be around kids. So nang nakita ko mga pamangkin niya, sobrang warm din. Okay ang bonding ko with Shaina’s family," shared John. John shared that communication plays a very important role in his courtship. "Communication is one big factor. I may have been busy with ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll 9’ shooting and my trip recently to Australia but we talk. So kahit magkalayo kami importante na may communication," he said. But the heart of John Prats is not the only thing in motion. His career has also taken another direction as a product endorser. John Prats is now the endorser of Motion, the scent produced by Scent Station specifically for the actor! According to John, he first used one of Scent Station’s products when actress Cass Ponti gave away a cologne for men called Bullet from Zen Zest, the sister company of Scent Station, during her birthday party last year. Since then he has been wearing the said cologne after his tapings or when he goes out. It was because he was a Zen Zest user that Michelle Asence, president and general manager of Scent Station, got the idea of making him their endorser. Thus they created a scent for him called Motion which has two variants – manly and fresh. "Mabango and nagustuhann ko ang Bullet. Pag may taping ako ito yung ginagamit ko at pag pinagpapawisan kasi hindi umaasim...eventually nagpatawag sila ng dinner tapos sila ang gumawa ng mga amoy at isa ako sa ilang pumili ng scent and box and design," he revealed. Michelle Asence also said that they weren’t inspired to come out with John’s special scent because other companies had done so. She said that they have been working for this project for a long time already and weren’t aware that their competitor would launched a scent based on a celebrity endorser, too. John Prats’ Motion is more inspired by football icon David Beckham who came out with his own scent. "David Beckham, for me hawig kay John," smiled Michelle. "For me, face lang ni David Beckham ang dating so hindi sa mga local competitors nakuha ang idea." So why call it Motion? "Si John kasi magaling sumayaw and lagi siyang in motion. Ayaw naman namin na pabango named after him. Gusto namin yung merong edge. Kaya kapag makikita ninyo ang poster niya na sumasayaw siya at tumatalon and he is in motion...siya ang napili kasi clean ang image niya and since bata siya, artista na siya, and maganda ang takbo ng career niya, marami siyang projects and maganda ang mukha niya...malinis ang dating talaga. Magandang image niya," expressed Ms. Asence proudly. John Prats is in the upcoming "Shake Rattle and Roll 9", official entry of Regal Films for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. |
