By: Manila P. Santos From: ABS-CBN website [August 14, 2008] John admitted that he and the young actress are exclusively dating and are happy to be spending time with each other. "Ako kasi, I’m not dating anyone else anymore. Siya lang yung liniligawan ko. Wala ng iba. I’m really happy right now. Masaya na ako sa fact na wala na akong nililigawan pang iba. Si Shaina kasi, sobrang saya kasama at masarap kausap. Yun yung sobrang okay sa kanya,” he said. He explained that although they have yet to announce themselves as an official couple, John said it doesn’t matter because their friendship goes way back to the days when he was still in the teen-oriented show Kaybol and she was in Marinella. But it was only in ASAP that they really found the chance to talk and get closer to each other. There are, however, some detractors who say that he’s only courting the young actress as a career move, to which John defended himself. “I want to prove them wrong. To show them na hindi ganun ang intension ko. Meron siyang sariling career. Meron din ako. I want her to grow. And I also want to grow in my own career separately,” he explained. With a thriving real estate business, the 24-year old says that he is definitely at a point in his life where he does not want to play around. “Definitely seryoso ako. Hindi ako magloloko kasi sobrang bait ng family niya. Hindi ko sisirain ng ganun-ganun. So willing akong maghintay hanggang kailan niya ako sasagutin,” he stressed. The dancer-actor, who is all set to play Tiny Tony in the next instalment of Komiks, was also admittedly scared of Shaina’s older sister Vina Morales, whom he has known for quite some time now. “Oo naman siyempre may takot din ako sa kanya kasi Ate ni Shaina yun. At saka kuya rin naman ako so alam ko rin yung feeling na yun. Pero sobra ko namang ni-ri-respect yung family niya kaya walang problema,” he explained. |
