John Prats defends Shaina Magdayao’s elusive statements about their relationship By: Rachelle Siazon   From: Abs-Cbn website [November 26, 2008] During the Fox Clothing Line store opening at Greenbelt 5, John Prats expressed his elation because his major comeback series Mars Ravelo’s Komiks Presents Tiny Tony has been a huge hit among the Pinoy viewers. “I’m happy. Hindi ko ine-expect na ganito magiging reaction ng mga tao about Tiny Tony. But the problem is they don’t know me as John Prats anymore. They call me Tiny Tony everywhere. But I am happy na nakaka-touch ako ng lives ng mga bata. I’m also glad na kakaiba siya sa other superheroes. At first naiisip ko kung ano ba’ng kakalabasan dahil kasi first time gagawin na 90% of the series maliit ako. Pero maganda at happy naman ako dun sa effects. Thanks to Direk Don Don Santos, maganda ang pagkakatahi nung story at ng shots,” he happily conveyed to ABS-CBN.com. The fact that his much-speculated relationship with Shaina Magdayao is going stronger only adds up to the countless blessings that he is thankful for this year. “You know, iba yung happiness whenever I work hard and I know she's there for me. Kahit isang text lang dyan na ‘take care’, iba eh. Iba yung inspiration na nabibigay niya sa akin. Sobra siyang supportive and vice versa. Kung ano man ang gusto niyang gawin, I’m always here to support her. And yun yung maganda eh, hindi kami naghahatakan. May sarili siyang career, I have my own career, and we're just here to support each other,” he revealed. Since they have been exclusively dating for almost a year now, many people would like to believe that they’ve already entered the boyfriend-girlfriend phase. But John refused to define the real score between them other than what he already said in his past interviews. “Siguro kasi kami what you see is what you get. We're trying to be private about our relationship, kung ano man ang meron kami. Kasi ayaw naming isipin ng iba tao and our respective fans na we're using each other for our career which is not the case. Kung ano yung sa amin, it’s something personal. So we’re just happy. Yun na lang muna siguro yung masasabi ko,” he explained. But at least John is very open about his feelings compared to Shaina who rarely talks about her closeness with him. “Maybe because we're different. She's really a private person and I understand where she’s coming from. Dahil kumbaga yung samahan namin hindi naman yun for public [scrutiny] na [kailangan lagi naming ika-clarify na] parang eto kami [ngayon], we’re not like that… We’re just happy kung ano man yung nangyayari sa amin and wala na kaming mahihiling pa’ng iba,” he stated. Has Shaina’s continued silence about their relationship ever caused an argument between them? “She never denied me naman and she never made me feel na ganun. I respect her decision and that’s why I’m here to support her. Basta as long as I know na she's happy, I’m good,” he stressed. John has already given Shaina a promise ring. When asked what kind of gift he plans to give her this Christmas, the charming actor simply confirmed that it would be something very special. “Of course pinagplaplanuhan ko na kung ano yung ibibigay ko sa kanya. I really love gift-giving kasi napaka-priceless nung reaction nung taong pagbibigyan mo ng regalo. Yun yung best part about it, I think. Kapag may ibinigay ako at nakita kong happy si Shaina, iba yung balik sa akin eh. Pero secret ko na muna kung ano yung ibibigay ko sa kanya kasi baka malaman pa niya eh,” he grinned.
