John Prats is overwhelmed by the success of ‘Tiny Tony’ By: Napoleon Quintos   From: ABS-CBN website [January 08, 2009] When John Prats played the title hero in Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo’s Tiny Tony, he was happy to have been given the chance to do so. The show enjoyed great ratings and a loyal fan base until its final episode last December. During the press conference of his new show PareKoy, the actor expressed his thanks to all those who watched Tiny Tony from beginning to end. “Sobrang happy ko. Hindi ko inexpect na na magiging ganun ka successful ‘yung show. Ngayon ‘yung mga tao kapag nakikita nila ako ang tawag nila sa akin Tiny Tony na. Nakakatuwa kasi ‘yun yung basehan na may nanonood ng show, na nama-mark ka as your character. Sobrang saya ko pati na rin sina Direk Dondon (Santos, director of the show) at Sir Deo (Endrinal, business unit head).” John will wear his Tiny Tony costume again for Sanlakas, a show that will feature characters from the Komiks Presents Mars Ravelo series. The former child star said that he has mixed emotions about again playing the superhero character that he made famous. “Excited na ako but at the same time I’m still getting ready kasi madugo ‘yung pag-taping ng Sanlakas. Natatakot nga ako. Sana maging successful ‘yung show kasi mahirap talaga ‘yung gagawin namin lalo na sa special effects. Dati sa Tiny Tony halos all the time nasa green screen (a special effects technique) ako. Buti ngayon sa Sanlakas makakaimbento si Tiny Tony ng potion na pwede siyang lumaki ng two hours lang. So may mga eksena na makakasama ko ‘yung ibang superheroes sa taping. Kung hindi malamang ako lang mag-isang magte-taping sa chroma. Ang sad naman nun kung wala akong kasama.” The other superheroes of Sanlakas include Vhong Navarro as Lastikman, Jon Avila as Kapitan Boom, Mariel Rodriguez as Varga, Luis Manzano as Flash Bomba, and Shaina Magdayao as Dragonna. Now that John and Shaina have been exclusively dating, will their characters Tiny Tony and Dragonna be romantically involved in Sanlakas? John said he doesn’t think that Sanlakas will dwell much on the love angle. “Sa Sanlakas wala naman masyadong love angle kasi si Dragonna bawal siyang ma-in love kasi mawawala ‘yung powers niya.
